The US would still have occupied Midway, Guam, Wake Island, etc. If Pearl Harbor wasn't the available Naval Base, Subic Bay would be even more supported. Or maybe Samoa. One way or another, our interests in the Pacific would be strong. Also, consider the island hopping campaign actually started from Australia and went up New Guinea and the Solomons, not East to West.
