Man Conquers Space- Updated
Okay, this is for all you NASA nuts out there. MCS is the homebrew project of an Aussie native, who fell madly in love with the collaboration between pre-Apollo Wernher Von Braun, famed space illustrator Chestley Bonestell, and Collier's Magazine.
This fellow got the bright idea of using today's desktop CGI tools and a whole lot of creativity to make a documentary of the sort we all watched on 16-mm projectors in school when we were young, detailing the marvelous history of a space program that never was, following Von Braun's plan of a rotating space station, reusuable booster rockets and glider shuttles, and a winged mars lander.
The results can be found here: http://users.bigpond.net.au/surfacesrendered/MCSEnter.html
It includes several short clips, a four minute teaser reel, and many production and behind the scenes stills. After a longish hiatus it appears to have been updated with the last month or two with many new items. Enjoy.
