From the Lois McMaster-Bujold listserve, during a conversation about her books being banned in certain Australian libraries:
"I just thought I would mention that Queensland was (and I'm assuming still
is) a police state."
Frankly, I wasn't aware that Australia was such a bastion of authoritarian politics. I suppose I'll have to go rent Rabbit Proof Fence and watch Children of the Revolution again.
