Quick Review: Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children

Summary: Two years after defeating the threat of Meteor, Cloud Strife is running a courier service while humanity rebuilds. Unfortunately a mysterious disease called "Geostigma" is running through population, causing many to fall ill. Then a trio of white haired man appear, on a search for their "Mother".

Review: I'd say that the main complaint about this movie is that it's completely incoherent if you've never played the original Final Fantasy VII computer game. Except that even if you did play it it's still incomprehensible. Actually a better description would be "Fight scenes with some plot thrown in" to the point that the final battle is an epic forty-five minutes long (and this is a film that's only about an hour and a half.)

Damn it's pretty though.

Having played the game numerous, NUMEROUS times I never had any trouble following the plot, although thinking of it now I can see how people would ask themselves who all the people are doing the crazy fling-you-through-the-air move against Bahamut.

As such, my main complaint is why the HECK the dude transform in the end? (Vague to prevent spoilers) What was UP with that, my god? Did the movie really gain so much from His presence?

I'd also quite like to know how a man was supposed to have survived being at the top of a 60 floor high building when it was blown up, but whatever.

The fight scenes ARE cool. Also while I still prefer the music as it was in the game, the updated music is pretty damn epic.
