"You really don't have to get made up for this," Rex said gently.
She took the curler out of her hair, giving it a toss. "What do you think?"
"Very lovely, ma'am. Now about the bus..."
"It'll wait. I might change my eyeshadow. I'm not sure if it goes with the dress."
"Ma'am, honestly, We don't actually care."
"You don't care, I do." She glanced out the window. Her neighbors were being guided out of their homes, into the tour bus, looking scared and unkempt. "The Apocalypse only happens once, I'll be damned if I won't dress properly for it."
