The wolf stalked along the path, hidden in the trees. The little girl in the bright red hood bounced along it, the smell of vittles in her basket not as enticing as the brief flashes of her throat.
"Hello, girl," he greeted silkily, emerging from the woods.
"Hello, Master Wolf," the girl returned, bowing. "I was told I might see you."
"Oh?"
"Yes." She smiled, dropping the basket, as her fangs extended and her eyes flashed to bright gold. "You see, Grandmother remembered you, from when she was a girl."
Then there was so much beautiful blood. All his own.
