From Gateworld:

If everything goes according to plan, there will be a little bit of crossover right at the end of Season Eight and at the end of Atlantis [Season One]," Cooper said, "and the storylines will converge. And in Season Two of Atlantis there will be much more crossover between the worlds. They will no longer be isolated in Pegasus. There will be trips home to Earth, and characters from SG-1 visiting Atlantis, and so forth and so on. So it's not really the same as Voyager in that they're not always going to be trapped in Pegasus."

This was my one big fear about Atlantis, and what always made me wary of watching it. I freaking hate shows (not just Voyager) that send the cast off into a strange land, or an incredible journey, or on the run from the law, searching for someway to get home. Because I can think of only four shows where they completed their journey (Battlestar Galactica/Galactica: 1980, ST: Voyager, The Prisoner, The Fugitive), and two of those were utter crap.

But count on the Stargate producers not to fall into that trap. SG-1 has stayed fresh because they were willing to play withthe status quo during their long conflict with the Gou'ald, and it appears that Atlantis is going to keep true to that balance.

Still, I have to imagine that having a fair supply of Ancient equipment availible is going to give the Gou'ald one hell of a headache. :)
