"What did you do?" She grabbed hold of the mirror, barely noticing that she could walk. It was... not her face that stared back her. There were no pain lines, and her ears were now furry and pointed, emerging from thick black hair. The tip of her nose was black too. Smiling experimentally, she saw fangs.

"You were in so much pain," the Groupmind said. "But your body was still strong enough to survive Processing."

"Where is my real body?"

"Still in stasis, though your mind is operating this morph. I'm sorry, I made it as human as I could."

Why wouldn't she? She's got a brand new fully functional, pain free body to play with.

The fact that she looks suspiciously like a morph and has the Groupmind chatting directly into her head is something that (ahem) certain AI's haven't thought through very well....

Some people can be funny and particular about body image things. I hope that the pain-free and walking parts will carry her over any issues she might have in that regard.

Likely she's going to go through a longish period of adjustment. Not to mention a longish discussion with the Groupmind about "medical consent" and "just because something SEEMS like a good idea..."

Her body is in stasis and she's controlling an artifical form, that means she's going to be around for a long time, doesn't it? She could be the Grounpmind's (medical) ethics consultant!
