I'm thinking from the original creator. Though you can make the case that Wesley Crusher was his self-insert character in early TNG.

I vary between "crackfic of my own universe is fanfic" (See recent Luke-gets-Kept addergoole story) and "This doesn't fit any of the current narratives but I want to write it anyway.

When you stop drawing it in its original style and stop updating it to its original page, and the characters now only appear, rarely, on the page with the minimalist style that's used explicitly for fanfiction?

Or is that just me?
