jeriendhal: (Scandalous!)

So in case you didn't know already, I write a lot of furry fiction. Or as I described it once, stories about Lesbian Space Foxes.

And in my reviews I've been praised for avoiding the cliche of making the story a porn fest. Except for the reviews that wishing there was more sex in them. Sigh.

Now while I can write porn when I want to, as a preference I prefer to leave as much to the reader's imagination as possible. There's plenty of awful sex scenes out there. I feel no need to add more to the pile.

So when you're out to read something romantic, what do you look for?

I'm not really into romances, so I can't answer - sorry!

I'm pretty open minded and willing to give just about anything a try, reading-wise, so I clicked everything. I mean, I've been hesitant about things but given the fic a try and loved it - as well as OMG, the opposite.

It's really up to the quality of the writing. If the essence is there, I'm fine with the physicality being merely implied (if indeed present, given there's not necessarily any coupling between romance and sex, though certainly, there very often is; but there can be asexual romance, and sex without love), or thoroughly carnal in its passion.

And I adore the term "IKEA Erotica". FSM knows I've seen plenty of that.. =:P (Often found with full physical descriptions of the characters at the start, presumably so readers can verify the pairings on some kind of compatibility chart)

BTW, you might be interested in a small TF story contest I noticed.

Er, I think you mean poly*amory*. Polyarmory sounds rather painful.

I read the more explicit stuff, but not from authors I know personally [wry g].

Polyarmory, when Cordelia looks on at Jole and Aral in frustration as their latest session switches gears from sex to a discussion of a latest arguments in the Defense Budget Committee. ;p

I can't take credit for the IKEA gag. TV Tropes is lovely resource for terms you didn't realize you needed. :)

I shall see what I can do with that contest. Though Hypnosis and Mind Control isn't my thing generally, since I have Issue with Con/Non Con (POW excepted).
