Christopher, post-"Sinking"

Choir Attunements

Seraphim
- Unchanged.

Cherubim of Children act as Christopher’s supreme protectors of the weak. In that capacity he has granted them the ability to transfer any Body hits inflicted upon their Attuned and apply them to themselves. This is a voluntary, but instantaneous effect.

Ofanim - Unchanged.

Elohim - Unchanged.

Malakim - As per their old attunement, but with the additional ability to automatically determine the honor of a child’s guardians (if any).

Kyriotates still may not possess a child without incurring dissonance, but they choose to temporarily add their own Forces to bolster a nearby child’s for CD minutes. This is often mistaken by bystanders for examples of “Hysterical Strength” such as when a child rips off a car door to rescue their younger sibling, or otherwise shows extraordinary intelligence or Will in a survival situation.

Mercurians - Unchanged.

Bright Lilim - Unchanged.

Servitor Attunements - Unchanged.

Distinctions

Vassal of Teaching:
When attempting to teach a child or group of children a skill, the angel will have their complete and undivided attention for one hour, once a day.

Friend of Babysitters: If attuned to a child, the angel will automatically be perceived as a trustworthy temporary guardian for the child by any adults around them, including the child’s parents. Note that the child won’t necessarily agree with this, so it pays for the angel not to look too outrageous in front of his attuned.

Master of Children: The angel may appear as to a child as any sort of anonymous, adult authority figure, such as a fireman, police officer, doctor, or teacher in a large school. This is not a Role, unless the angel has a preexisting Role in the profession he wishes to emulate. The child will automatically trust the angel, and follow his orders if they involve getting the child to safety.

Rites: Teach a class of children for at least one hour.
Kill a sexual predator.

Chance of Invocation: Unchanged

Superior Opinions - The Host

Blandine:
“Our Words are linked as strongly as before. But I cannot help but weep for the loss of the child who helped me protect children’s dreams.” Blandine’s front in the War is a lonely one, and her Cherub nature prevents her from seeing the folly of holding out hope for a love that is long lost. I am grateful for her aid, but am not blind to her weaknesses.

David: “He imagines that his demands for justice in the matter of the Grigori will bring greater unity to Heaven, but in truth he fights for those who helped divide Heaven in the first place.” David only proves that not even my new Choir is immune from foolish and dishonorable behaviors.

Dominic: “Christopher has shown an admirable zeal in attempting to bring true justice to those who have been wronged by Heaven in the past. I will support his efforts.” I never thought I would consider Dominic as an ally, especially given his role in past events. But even Judgement is capable of reconsidering its previous decisions.

Eli: “Chris is a what? He killed who? No way…” Eli, I don’t know what you think you’re doing on the Earth, but you need to come home now. Your children need you. And I need to hear Truth from your lips.

Gabriel: “The Whore is dead, killed by the Child. The Child is dead, murdered by the Whore, and only a black shadow remains of him.” Gabriel is another example of the suffering inflicted upon Heaven by it’s own. She deserves better, and we can start by killing Belial and giving his head to her as a comfort.

Janus: “Woah, man! Chris has changed. Heaven has been way too static for too long. I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next.” I’m not surprised Janus is enjoying the current events. More power to him, for children always have the potential for change within them.

Jean: “It would appear that Christopher’s recent reconfiguration has resulted in a far more optimal, and direct, method of problem solving.” Lightning’s world and mine are far removed, though I am grateful for his efforts to blunt Technology’s war against childrens’ safety.

Jordi: “So he’s a Malakite now? So long as the ‘pets’ of his children still get to rip apart demons and humans who threaten their ‘owners’ I’m happy.” Jordi and I get along. Mostly. But he’s surely the most mono-focused among superiors, and that is something that must be watched carefully.

Khalid: “Tests of faith are a gift from God. The harsher the test, the greater the nature of the gift. Christopher has been given a mighty test indeed.” The Muslim faith has a record as mixed as Christianity’s on the treatment of children, but I have no quarrel with Khalid, particularly in his disagreements with Laurence.

Laurence: “I am glad that Christopher is back among us. I am not happy that he wishes to dig up old wounds among the Host.” Laurence commands the Host, but he does not lead. While he sits and plans for the Final Battle, Heaven is divided and weak. Either he must recognize this, or step aside for someone who does.

Litheroy: “Christopher is pushing for openness and responsibility in the Council. You think I’m going to object to that?” I have always admired the free opinions of Litheroy, and his objection to deception. That has not changed.

Marc: “Heaven did not keep up its end of the social compact with Children, and Christopher got a raw deal.” I appreciate Trade’s concern for me, but Marc should concentrate on his conflict with Mammon.

Michael: “Let’s not mince words. We screwed up. While we played at politics, Christopher almost Fell. Anybody who complains about him making everybody uncomfortable had better just shut their mouths until they can show what they did to try and rescue him. I am not blind to the fact that we are in a war. If we were wise, we would give command of it back to Michael, in the hopes of ending it quickly.

Novalis: “Christopher… is still with us, in a manner of speaking. But the friend I knew is lost. This new Christopher I do not know yet.” Novalis weeps for what I was. It would be wiser for her to work with who I am now.

Yves: “What’s done is done.” I respect you, Father of my heart, but I can’t claim to understand you. Nevertheless our Words are intertwined, more closely than ever.

Zadkiel: “I failed to Protect him, from both those in the Horde and those in the Host who would do him harm. That will not happen again.” As with Yves, our Words are intertwined. Unlike Yves, I understand you much better, Dear Zadkiel. That brings me comfort.

Superior Opinions - The Horde

Asmodeus:
“Heaven imagines it has come out ahead in this round of play. It is mistaken.” The Game, as always, ignores my Word as much as it can get away with. Fine by me, so long as Dominic doesn’t get too closely involved with it either.

Baal: “So Andre is dead, at the hands of Children. Murphy’s Law still reigns supreme on this battlefield!” The War is bad of children and other living things. When it ends, Baal will die along with his Word.

Beleth: “He’s become marginally more effective at protecting children’s dreamscape, not that it matters to me.” I despised you before for the pain you have brought to Blandine, and the terror you have inflicted on my charges. That has not changed. What has changed is the expected lifespan of your servitors.

Belial: “What’s changed? He still gets pissy when kids die in apartment fires.” Head. Present. Gabriel. Now.

Fluerity: “Christopher? Oh, him. Look man, I don’t suppose we can just let bygones be bygones, eh? Andre put me up to it anyway.” Thanks to your little ploy with that alchemical solution, you’ve shown the entire Host how dangerous you can truly be, not just to humans but to Celestials as well. I wouldn’t count on having a long life.

Haagenti: “So what? He still hasn’t stopped me from putting soda and snack machines in the schools. Super-size me, baby!” Obesity starts at home, unfortunately. His is a Word that I must particularly guard against.

Kobal: “Malakim, no sense of humor about anything. At least before he could appreciate a joke.” Cruel humor can be one of the most devastating weapons against a child’s ego. I will always be on guard against his servitors.

Kronos: “He was so close to achieving his Fate, alas.” The road to one’s Destiny or fate often begins in childhood. More that any other Demon Prince now, Kronos is the one to look out for.

Lilith: “Oh, blessit, another Malakite. I suppose he’ll be impossible to bargain with now.” Lilith is a puzzle for me. She is human. Why does she feel compelled to treat her daughters as sub-human?

Malphas: "Andre's death is nothing, compared to the body blow Christopher has given to Laurence's rule. This is an unprecedented opportunity to widen the cracks in Heaven's political landscape." Anyone who has ever attended high school knows how evil cliques can be.

Mammon: “Malakite, huh? Not that I care. I’m interested in bigger payoffs than kids skimming cash out of their parent’s wallets.” His Word works in concert with Media, making children desire what they neither need nor can afford.

Nybbas: “Oh, Christopher as a Malakite works much better on the screen, baby! All that pent-up blackwing angst, just waiting for the right Imp or Lilim to bring it out. Can’t wait to see what kind of numbers his plucking scene will generate! For the love of God, he’s managed to even corrupt Sesame Street with hyperactive MTV editing. He’s second on my List, right after Fluerity.

Saminga: “I knew letting Drugs borrow my latest Wordbound was a bad idea. I was getting few enough Fated kids before all this mess started.” He’s an idiot, but a dangerous idiot. He’s also on my List.

Valefor: “Blessit, didn’t that idiot Andre realize he should have let me plan that little kidnapping?” Theft is a low-level threat to my Word under most circumstances, except when it comes to kidnappings. Then it’s “smite with extreme prejudice.”

Vapula: “But I love kids! They give the best data when used in the Hellhound/Damned Soul maze runs.” Three words: Children of Thalidomide.

Role in the War

Previously Christopher was one of Heaven’s jokers, willing to gently poke at the foibles and overt seriousness of his fellow archangels, while protecting the innocence of childhood for as long as possible. Now he’s still poking at Heaven’s foibles, but this time it’s with a sharp, pointed stick. In Christopher’s opinion it’s long past time for Heaven to give up on it’s vendetta against the Grigori, and to welcome them back into the fold. This hasn’t made him popular in Heaven’s more conservative quarters, but with the backing of both Dominic and Michael, there are few right now who are willing to try and silence him.
