Kitty Update
Mar. 25th, 2005 12:43 pmMaxx is (cautiously) on the mend. The diabetes diagnosis was confirmed, and so he's going to be on insulin shots and diabetic cat food for the rest of his life. On top of that he's got a bit of a heart murmur, and his breathing is mildly labored, but the vets seem concerned but not overly worried about that. With luck he ought to be home tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Tracy took Salem and Rascal into the vet for the originally planned checkup this morning. Rascal was a good kitty, getting all his shots and weighing in at 14.5 poounds. Salem lived up to the "fractious" note on his medical records, and fought the vet at every turn. They even charged Tracy $30 less for the visit, because they couldn't get a good enough grip on him to take blood sample or check his teeth! But he was weighed (in the cat carrier) 18.7 pounds, but most of that seems to be muscle. Both of them were prety healthy.
