D&D Update
May. 20th, 2005 12:12 pmFinished Arc #6, and now am up to Strip #67 (plus four non-plot one shot gags). Which means I've got about 35 weeks of matierial prepared, assuming a twice-a-week update schedule.
Observations so far:
1) It's a very Isolde-ocentric strip. No surprise there, but the secondary characters really haven't had much of a chance to shine, aside from Catherine. This may change in the current arc I'm writing, given I'm trying to make Tez the co-star, and it's natural territory for Gwen.
2) Speaking of which, some of them, Gwen in particular, I haven't really utilized at all, even though I'd intended them to be Isolde's main antagonists. Another character has popped up that Isolde will be in a position to bump into fairly often though.
3) The running gag of "Isolde pisses off Mom, gets tied to pole" isn't happening that much either, though that's probably for the best, so the joke doesn't go stale.
4) Despite my natural tendencies, the angst factor has remained low, thank goodness. I'll admit my talent at creating verbal/physical comedy isn't all that great, but I think my Funny is at least adequate.
5) I'm severely impressed by comic artist/writers like Howard Tayler and Scott Kurtz, who manage to write and ink their stuff every day, 365 days a year. If I had to write that fast, I think my head would explode!
BTW I really could us a beta-reader on this though. Anybody want to offer their services?
