R. Edward Lopez 1953-2005

jeriendhalLopez, the morning news guy at 98 Rock Baltimore, died from lung/brain cancer Sunday, after a 14 month battle with the illness. (Link: http://www.98online.com/) In a world where morning radio guys come and go, he was on the air for over twenty-five years at the same station. To put it in perspective, I'm not sure that Walter Cronkite was at CBS for so long, and Lopez's dedication to the news was at least equal to Uncle Walt's.
