Cat Troubles
Oct. 12th, 2005 11:06 amUnfortunately jvowles isn't the only one with cat troubles. Steve took Maxx into the vet this morning, after he was looking rather glassy-eyed and wobbly last night and this morning. Unfortunately, like Bishu, it looks like Maxx is having trouble with his kidneys, though he isn't in as severe a state yet. He also has a heart arrythmia, which will only be irritated if we overhydrate his kidneys.
It's going to cost $300 just for a visit to the kitty cardiologist, never mind any procedures he recommends. And that won't change the fact that Maxx is simply old, and we're running out of ways to make him feel comfortable.
Ultimately it's Steve's decision on what to do, but I dread him having to make it. Lately his emotional state has been sliding back towards depression anyway, and losing Maxx, who has been a fine companion, will really hurt him.
