Raise the Titantic
Oct. 13th, 2003 03:27 pmWhen I was about ten or twelve, I went through an obsession about all things Titantic related. Mind you this was back in the days before the wreck was discovered, so the only things out there was the movie & book "A Night to Remember", a crappy Revell model, and of course Clive Cussler's bestseller "Raise the Titantic".
It was one of those books I must have checked out from the library and read at least twenty times in a two years period. It was a good action novel, and some of the funky submersible technology (explorer subs that can operate independently for weeks at a time. Riiiiiiiight) made it close to science fiction.
Then of course it was turned into a tremendously crappy movie, sinking any chance of Cussler agreeing to have any of his other novels adapted within his lifetime.
But between that time I distinctly remember seeing a sunday comic strip adaptation of the book. Details of how accurate it was compared to the novel are fuzzy in my head, but I remember it was there.
Am I the only one that does?
