Dalek (no spoilers)

The Good: Holy sh*t, somebody actually figured out how to make the damned pepperpots scary again. Admittedly it was by making it an uber-Dalek (shields? Being able to do surface touch genetic scans? Okaaaaaay) but worked. Of course it contradicts the idea that Daleks can be easily taken out by teenagers with A-levels in chemistry and an RPG launcher, but I suppose that can be blamed on the Davros Effect (when formerly scary horde creatures get a 'face' [Davros, the Borg Queen, ect.] they immediately turn into graduates from the Stormtrooper School of Tactical Idiocy.)
The Bad: The opening bit introducing our human antagonist was WAY over the top, and just reinforced the Rich American Asshole sterotype. The notes on being an uber-Dalek also apply, just because if all Daleks were that smart, then how the hell did humanity ever beat them without the Doctor around?
