Once upon a time the most realistic film about spaceflight was George Pal's 1950 snorefest epic Destination Moon (with script by Robert Heinlein). Of course in 1950 even Walt Disney's Man in Space television specials hadn't aired yet, so the moviegoing public had little idea what spaceflight would actually be like. So Destination Moon got a little help Walter Lantz's Woody Woodpecker, in a promotional film comissioned by the movie's fictional Big Corporate Backer.
