I think the game designers were on crack when they pitched the Timeless River level. "It'll be in the same style as the original Disney toons in the 30's! In black and white even!" Add in the fact that it's basically time travel (it's set on the land that will eventually become Disney Castle), and the cognitive dissonance starts to hurt. It's just too damned freaky to see Sora with the same frozen, dead eyes as the other B&W characters.
