Don Davis (General Hammond) from an interview at Gateworld.com

DD: Oh yeah. And most of them on. And one of my favorite shows on television, for years, was a thing that's a Canadian production called Lexx. It's just magnificent. Within the science fiction realm, Doctor Who and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Hell, I've got DVDs of all of them!

I'm just saying I came to it late. One of my favorite authors -- again, he happens to be Canadian -- happens to live in this area. His name's Spider Robinson. If you want to read great fun, read "The Callahan Chronicles."

I'm just trying to imagine General Hammond sitting in the base cafeteria, reading a copy of "Callahan's Secret" while chewing on his mashed potatos. :)

Apparently he's also a really skilled woodworker. My old roomie showed some behind-the-scenes thing about him and he was showing off some of the duck decoys he carved.

Yeah, he talks a lot about putting together an art studio/woodworking shop at the beginning of the interview. Apparently he's working on putting togethe a web site to show it all off.

Heh. Cool.

I like those books, too. I'd never surivive in Callahan's. Not because of the puns, but because I can't manage more than a single drinkie.
