Job Hunt: Got a strong nibble at a job fair hosted by Barnes & Noble, pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] jvowles for a book sller's position. They interviewed my twice while I was there, and really seemed to like me. The hours would be crap and the pay half of what I was getting before, but it beats being unemployed...

Maybe.

Because today I also applied for unemployment, and was informed that if I worked part time I could get benefits even if I'm working, so long as my pay didn't exceed a certain level. So technically speaking I could work part time and be making more than I was when I was working for Choice.

The Floor: The replacement flooring finally arrived Saturday. I'm going to try and inspect it this afternoon and hopefully it'll get delivered to my house Wendsday (so they say). Which given that it has to sit in my house adjusting to the temperture for three days means that it can't possibly be installed before Monday. Argh...

Tom: Is doing very well in school according ot his teachers, and is charming them to death. Better still he's finally responding to potty training, peeing at both home and school! Now we just have to get old Number Two down. :)

Potty training a child is never easy... I did 2 myself. You have my sympathy. I wish you luck in the job search. Have you tried USAJOBS? http://www.usajobs.gov/ I assume you live near the vicinity of DC there may be job postings with the Gubment that you could apply for.
Another place you might look is https://www.lmpeople.com/careers/search/search.asp
This is who I work for... they are always looking for people. You might have some luck there. Get a good resume.

Working part time and making more money... that leaves more time for writing reading and gaming.. WHOO HOOO HEAVEN! Actually a job surrounded by lots'a new shiny books sounds pretty damn acceptable. I'll cross my fingers for you.

I'm not surprised Tom is charming his teachers. I had a peek at his birthday videos. He's a real cutey. :)

Peta... who's up at three am, can't sleep because I worked a night shift Monday night and slept in all day. Besides, we had a very small amount of rain and I wanted to check that rain actually existed.
