So, Mom's in the Hospital
Oct. 29th, 2006 02:16 amThat pretty much sums up yesterday afternoon. Got a call from my sister just after Noon, telling me Mom was having pains in her chest (being Mom, she called my sister before calling 911). I broke the land speed record getting down to her house, getting there jsut as the ambulance was going to pull away, which was a good thing since I didn't know the way to the hospital. Followed them in (sticking close enough to run two red lights) and stayed with Mom in the ICU with my sister while they checked her out.
Short version: She responded well to oxygen and nitrogen, and had perked up considerably by the time they moved her upstairs to observe her overnight and set up a stress test for the next day. But given her family history of heart problems they deifnitely want to keep a close eye on her.
Gargh. Now I'm operating on about three hours sleep. Want to go back to bed, but it ain't happening. I think I'll just go upstairs and watch Hellboy: Sword of Storms.
