While I have occasionally indulged in a sandwich and soda for breakfast, I think my co-worker heating a BBQ rib in the microwave to break her fast is a bit over the top.
1. mmmMMMmmm...generic McRib sammitches for breakfast.
2. I will never be able to say "McRib" without thinking of this one Decker's World game where my elf character spoke to this one NPC Pranth (think thri-kreen) in his own language. The shock of the NPC was described to me thusly: "Remember, they think elf babies are a delicacy. You talking to them is a like your McRib sandwich suddenly talkling to you!"
Sorry we missed y'all at Ree's b-day party the other week.
Gah! McRibs have to be one of the most ill-concieved ideas to come out Mickey D's since the Hula Burger. Awful things.
No worries about missing each other. Poor TOm was cranky as hell, and Tracy was stuck at work. Though I am going to either hook up with you to pick up those two GURPS books I begged you to get, or just PayPal the shipping money to you.
I hereby decree that the allowable Breakfast Foods are: 1. eggs 2. "breakfast meats": bacon (including canadian), sausage, scrapple, ham, fried bologna 3. waffles/pancakes, breads, and/or other donut/pastry stuff 4. hot or cold cereals (including grits) 5. fruits 6. breakfast potatoes (including potato pancakes, hashbrowns of all sorts, and pretty much any fried tater -- but NOT baked) 7. breakfast beverages (coffee, tea, juice, milk, or water are acceptable breakfast drinks; soda, milkshakes, and booze are definitely not) (EXCEPTION: Bloody mary) 8. Specific traditional ethnic foods (beans or kippers if you're British, rice or miso soup if Asian, etc.)
To be considered a proper breakfast, a meal should have two or more of the above.
SO under these rules, a BLT is breakfast because it contains toast and bacon, and an egg salad sandwich is okay because it has toast and eggs. Tea and toast is fine. Coffee and donut is fine.
But sandwich and soda? Unless it's a sandwich with bacon, you're out. :)
Leftover BBQ, Pizza, etc. are NOT acceptable as breakfast foods.
BBQ for breakfast? MMMmmmmmMMMm!!!!! Remember its Break Fast. First meal of the day. "traditional" breakfast foods are fine but for me? Well let us just say that I have broken my fast with cold pizza and warm beer many times...
