Um, Troughton holding a lightsaber would be a bit scary. Because I'm not sure even he'd know exactly where it would land when he swung it, much less his enemies.

Though you may have a point. Seeing Pertwee disable the tractor beam by flipping the Neutron Flow switch would be dissapointing. :)
