GoG: Herding Plot Bunnies

jeriendhalI decided to post the remainder of what had been completed on GoG so I can open a little discussion. I've got at least three seperate plot threads going on that I need to bring together for the climax of this story, and I'm hitting a wall on how to put them together. So at this point suggestions would be appreciated.
Update: Actually, writing all of this down seems to have set things up nicely. There is one major problem though. Canon Mavra really has nothing to do with the story as I've written it, aside from spoiling the initial attack on alt-Mavra's Marauder by Captain Blake's little fleet. After that she's just there. The scenes with her and alt-Mavra are cute and snarky (especially their initial meeting) but they've got Jack to do with the plot and the conflict over who has Canon Terinu isn't really concluded satisfactorily. Frankly I can pull them without having to worry about a major re-write.
Problem: The only sticky point would be explaining how Captain Blake's attack failed and the Wilson was destroyed. Anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to at least have Blake shine in this first scene. She had a good plan, the only reason it didn't work was due to something she had no way of controlling. If she initially loses because Mavra gets the jump on her, it's just going to make Blake look like an idiot, which I'd like to avoid.
Anyway, keeping Canon Mavra in, here is what has to happen:
alt-Rufus goes to alt-Mavra, claiming to have been kicked out by CaptainQueeg Blake, and asking to join the Marauder's crew. alt-Mavra, not being an idiot, immediately chucks him into the same cell bay where Leeza, Rufus and alt-Matt are being kept. But this is part of his Clever Plan, as alt-Rufus pulls a electronic lockpick from his tail fur, and opens the cells.
Meanwhile, the relationship between Mavra and alt-Mavra hits an all time low over the latter holding onto Canon Mavra's Terinu, and Mavra leaves her sister to her fate, skedaddling back to the gravity anomaly just as Blake's missile strike is heading towards Bolt Hole.
In addition, alt-Terinu is forced by alt-Mavra to make his loyalties clear. Trying to remove a potential weakness in their relationship, she orders him to kill alt-Matt. Conflicted, not wanting to kill the closest thing he's got to a best friend, alt-Terinu is saved by Terinu giving him the clue he needs to overcome alt-Mavra's imprinted control over him. (one guess how. And who.)
Leeza, Rufus, Terinu, alt-Matt and alt-Rufus head to the escape pods and the White Knight, barely getting away just before the missiles hit.

Date: 2007-09-27 04:03 am (UTC)Mavra's actions to date have been logical and in line with her character. Now unless she feels that the odds are against her she will continue to attempt to retrieve Terinu for herself. This would most logically be the arrival of other ships from Alt Mavra's fleet making an assault on her twin too risky to attempt. The only other reason she would skip this opportunity to go after Terinu is if a bigger prize presented itself. Say the anomoly that brought them to this universe sudden appeared again allowing her a way home.
I don't think Mavra really needs to have much more of a position in this story. but if she did spot and head back to the anomoly it would lay a trail for the others to portal through. Plus it would end the dilemma of what Terinu would logically do next... that being going after his Matt.
