Plot we've got, quite a lot.

Just writing down some of the ideas Peta and I were bouncing off each other this morning for alt-Ru's next story.



Day One

Morning after arrival. Rufus wakes up in own bed and room for first time in years.

Breakfast. Breaks news to Mum that he isn't going to use the family physician. Negotiates with her, allowing Whitebrow to be assigned as his driver.

Arriving at public clinic: See Hazel for first time in waiting room, looking out of sorts from drug withdrawl. While he waits she goes in for her appoitnment and comes out looking much better (after Methadone shot).

First Doctor Visit: Physical tests (brain scan, blood/urine tests for drug therapy, overall body scan to get data for his cybernetic arm replacement). Speaks to therapist about his addiction. Gets news that breaking his addiction is not going to happen. Juno has permanent effect on victim's brain chemistry after long term use. "We like to speak of "Addiction management" not a cure."

Chat with Whitebrow on the way home about effect of his absence on Bethany. Hints that Ru should check his old messages he sent home.

Checks messages. Dies of shame. Chat's with Mom about Canon Ru's last call to Bethany.

3 am wakeup, can't sleep, mild hyper phase/anxiety attack. Paces around the manor, ends up waking Bethany. They chat a bit about what he's done, Ru apologizes to her for all the pain he's caused.

Squee! So exciting! I haven't actually commented on these before (because I suck) but I've loved them, and getting to see Alt!Ru start to change = teh good stuff.

Does he tell them that is was another Rufus that made the call before or not? (Actually, once I thought about that for more than 2 seconds, I'm guessing he does, or the change in appearance from before will make them go all "wtf?")

Heh. I'm glad a partial outline is getting you so excited. *grin* alt-Ru does admit that the person who talked to Bethany "wasn't me" but he refuses to go further. Mostly because the info is probably classified, but also because he doesn't want his family thinking he's crazier than he already is. :)
