Politics, politics... alt-Rufus' musings about the return of the Dominion and the potential effect on Galactic politics may have just shoved poor Hazel's land troubles into the tertiary plot tier. Which is kind of a pity, because if the politics of the Dominion's return become a major driver of the story, I'm probably going to have stop posting installments so I don't run over the plot points that chaypeta is going to be bringing forth in the next few issues of Terinu.
