China Girl Update: Frustration Edition

Took the day off to go into DC to get authentications from the State Dept. and the Chinese Embassy for my power of attorney, so Tracy can pick up Georgia on her own. Got back at around 4:15 after driving through a nasty thunderstorm, only to check my email and find out that instead of leaving June 12th as we had previously been told, our group's trip had been set back to July 26th.

This is a major pisser. While it does give us more time to prepare for the trip, it means Tracy and her mom will be arriving in Bejing just as the Olympics hype is really starting to heat up, and they'll be trying to leave the country when everyone and their grandmother will be trying to come in.

Correction: June 26th, not July 26, so it's not so bad as it could be.

How self-possessed am I that my first thought was "26th June, hey, that's one day after my birthday!" *headesk*
