Progress Report: The Ship

Over a thousand words today, huzzah! Got really rolling along as Paul confronted Mr. Big. Nice tense interrogation scene with lotsa banter and no damned world exposition like the last, oh, thirteen pages.

Quote o' the Day:

“You’re going to kill me now, aren’t you?”
“No,” the man said. “For one thing, I don’t really care personal violence. It’s messy, and it attracts all the wrong kinds of attention, even on a backwater world like this one. For another it’s not actually necessary. By the time you’ll be able to notify anyone about what’s happening, it’ll all be over anyway.”
Somehow this completely failed to reassure Paul, but he kept up the man’s pretension of having a nice, friendly, pitch dark conversation.
