Summary: Twelve year old Boy Genius/Criminal Mastermind Artemis Fowl, aided by his loyal bodyguard Butler, enacts a scheme to steal from the most dangerous of foes, the People (aka Fairies) by kidnapping one of their own. Unfortunately for him, he grabs LEPRecon (Lower Elements Police, Recon division) officer Holly.
Hilarity (and deployment of nuclear arms) follows.
Review: Artemis, dude, you're trying to outsmart fairies. Fairies with guns and nuclear weapons. You're frigging Irish, you should KNOW BETTER, YOU IDIOT!
That said, the art is nicely expressive, with stylized humans and fairies that look appropriately both cute and creepy. Artemis has a nice Milesian ability to create trouble and (barely) ride the tiger to a satisfactory conclusion, though he has a tendency to deliberately put his personnel in harm's way that Miles would have deplored.
