Writing Update
Apr. 23rd, 2009 09:00 pmSpent most of the day in between calls playing with the formatting of Unexpected Diversions. I've managed to get the pages set up to match what's required for Lulu's 6x9 specification, and I actually got two thirds of the way through re-formatting the paragraphs of the individual stories (basically removing the line breaks and replaced them with paragraph indents.)
The only real sticking point so far is that I wasn't able to locate a saved copy of Failure Mode, so when I got home I had to make do with copying it off of the version I have up on my DA site. Unfortuantely while the rest of the stories managed to keep their formatting nice and neat when uploaded the Word file onto Open Office at home, this particular one spazzed out, creating some very awkward line formatting when I set the paragraphs to Justified (like lines that are three words long reeeeeeaaaallllly stretched out). Unfortunately I can't seem to fix it in Open Office, so I may have to wait until Monday to re-set it at work and then try to upload it to Lulu.
Now to see if I can dig up an original copy of the cover that Peta created for me.
Update: The good: Found Peta's original file for the cover. The bad: I asked her to format it to 8.5 x 11 inches instead of trade paperback size. So I'm going to have to take a chain saw in PhotoShop to it to make it fit the new format. I'd ask Peta for help except that's she's insanely busy in RL right now.
Hmm, maybe I can talk Erica into once she gets back from college...
