Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know.

Date: 2009-09-14 09:44 pm (UTC)I really liked the way you presented the Ferin social life and how they interacted with the Varn. It was especially great the way you paralleled with how Terinu is unconsciously trying to fit in with Leeza and them. It had a good, light-hearted feel, but enough underlining seriousness to give it some depth.

Date: 2009-09-18 12:47 am (UTC)Ah yes, that was a good one. I always enjoy giving the Gene Mage a chance to interact with his favorite creations. The challenge of course was to find the more humorous side of Terinu's relationship with Leeza, especially given how naturally hyper-cautious she would be around him once she realized the immense control she had over the poor kid. Just getting around that little problem stalled me for weeks until Melika popped into my head with the obvious solution. After that it was just a matter of cleaning up the Ferin Fruitball Game scene and I was done.
Last Line: Later, thanks to Leeza's questioning he'd be able to truthfully claim that the fruit really had just dropped out of his hand when he fell asleep. Having it land on Gwen's head had been just a bonus.
