Work:Went to work for the second time this week. Even though we only had two people there besides myself, call volume wasn't as bad as I feared. Everyone must still be hunkering down after the storm. Did discover that my temp agency has reached another low for sheer pettiness, as I discovered the rule that leave doesn't accrue on days you take off. Given the ridiculously low rate that we get it anyway (forex: We've all earned a grand total of three hours leave since the start of the year) that just ridiculous. And doubly annoying since they have to do extra paperwork to track it that precisely to be that cheap.

Home: Tracy thought she had to go to work so she dropped the kids off at daycare, only to discover she had the day off again after sitting for a 1/2 hour at her work's parking lot. It was fortunate that she got home, since when she tried to leave for her dentist appointment a couple of hours later, her car wouldn't start. Hopefully the battery just got drained down from the cold and it just needs a jump. It would annoying to have to replace the battery, and I'm really hoping it's not the alternator, though that doesn't seem a likely scenario.

Weather: 60% of Moar Snuw Monday, up to ten inches (which I shall mentally revise up to twenty given how the two times worked out).

Spring can't come fast enough.

I had to get a jumpstart today, too, before I could get in to work.

At least Monday's a holiday; I get to stay home regardless of the weather.

I was worried that since we hadn't moved the car in days we might need a jump. I was very relieved when she started right up.

Placement agencies suck.
Bad luck with the car! Sounds like snowmobiles are a better option...

badasher and i went to walmart tonite -- he's posted the results on facebook -- and it was generalized hysteria. busier than it was at christmas at our wally world. about 10 minutes after we walked in the door it started to snow in earnest and i think everyone for 50 miles decided they'd better restock. The snow didn't stick, but my GAWD was walmart's crowd impressive!
