jeriendhalGood: Had service guy come over to fix dryer.
Bad: Apparently there's a HOLE in the drum and the motor needs to be replaced, neither part he had on hand. And the first available date for him to come back is ten days from now.
Gripping Hand: Mom will be happy to see us when I come over to borrow her washer.
Good: Went the hardware store to match paint chips and get what I need to sand down and repaint the front door. First coat applied around 2pm.
Bad: It's thunderstorming heavily right now and the paint isn't dry yet. And I managed to scratch the paint with my umbrella when I was getting dinner from the car.
Good: Finished listening to Terry Pratchett's Jingo. As always Vimes and the Patrician are made of concentrated Awesome and even Nobby and Sgt Colon failed to be irritating.
Bad: Attempted to start Alex Bledsoe's noir fantasy [1] Burn Me Deadly. Even knowing I wasn't starting the first book in this series, I am not impressed when the protagonist reacts more irritation than concern to a woman who bursts from the woods with all the signs of being sexually assaulted.
I think I'm going to have to re-read Glen Cook's Garret Files series to wash out those first couple pages that I endured.
