The Dragon's Companion an omnibus of the stories Teal's Bargain, Teal's War and Teal's Choice is now available for purchase as an ebook in multiple format, including epub and Kindle, at Smashwords for US$4.99, 20% off what you would be paying if you bought each story individually.

In other news, I think the Smashword stats pages aren't worth the pixels they're printed on. I've received email notification that someone or someones has made a single purchase of each of the individual stories, but the stats pages are telling me they've been downloaded twice. Unless that means my purchaser wasn't sure if they'd received it the first time around.

Your purchaser wanted a mobi format for Kindle use and another format for general. He uses html for that from Baen, but Smashwords seems to have view only for that format, so he chose pdf. The site specifically says that it is permissible to use as many formats as desired. Because your purchaser has a book discussion tonight on Greene's The Elegant Universe and several other meetings, he hasn't yet dipped into the books, but looks forward to doing so.

Lol. Thanks for the explanation. And now I officially feel bad because I charged you an extra buck than necessary if you'd bought the omnibus. :

:-) Doesn't bother me. I gained experience points. My wife just got the Kindle*, but I have the app on my desktop and netbook, and I find it does well for reading.

I found out about Calibre (mentioned in an earlier exchange) from
http://txvoodoo.livejournal.com/1407965.html which seems to have a number of useful links. Haven't explored many yet.

*I won't be putting copies on the actual device. SFF doesn't seem to be her thing. I got her to read Shards, but nothing further in the Vorkosiverse and Chalion, but nothing further there. :-( I haven't totally given up, but I've definitely backed off. She was interested in some Heinlein and Clement juveniles a few years ago when she was conducting a reading group with sixth graders, but that was because she thought it would interest them.
