Tez looked down upon the figure the autodrones dragged before his throne. It was a dark skinned mage's construct, with curling horns emerging from her curly red-black hair.

"Tez!" it shouted. "It's you, how did you get… Oh, dear."

He swirled his wine in its goblet and took a leisurely sip. "And who might you be, Construct, to speak in such a familiar tone to the Emperor of All?"

"Maria Freeman, and I know you because you… or a later you… is my lover."

"Later me? So you're a time traveler." His laughter echoed around the room.

"I'm in trouble…"

Figure a minimum of 50k years, more likely closer to 100k, to account for no traces of the old cities being around in Maria's time.

Now think about how scary a less mature Tez can be, compared to Mr. Self Control that Maria knows.
