Resolved: Thor is a chick flick
Nov. 16th, 2011 10:16 amOkay, it's a chick flick with a lot of people getting punched or impaled on ice swords, but just consider the facts.
1. Our boy Thor is presented in as fanservicey as possible when he arrives on Midgard, spending half his time there without a shirt.
2. Aside from Sif in her plastic Power Rangers armor, none of the females is presented in anywhere near as fanservicey. And even with her, she's never presented as particularly vulnerable except when getting pounded by theNot A Stark Robot Destroyer.
3. While Thor is presented in the beginning as impulsive and arrogant, he's never anything less than devastatingly charming with the ladies, with a weapons grade smile and treatingJodie Foster Natalie Portman's character with respect.
4. And he's even got a loving but troubled relationship with his brother Loki for further Nice Guy credentials.
Really, it's the superhero equivilent of Sleepless in Seattle.
