Ryza smiled at Aunt Salli, hoping she was feeling merciful. "Okay, I know this doesn't look good..."

Aunt Salli gave her The Stare. "I asked, for your own safety, given the situation, to maintain a low profile."

"I made a bad decision."

"I'd call belly landing a flyer a bad decision yes."

"I can explain."

"Don't bother. Your Aunt Alinadar recommends we keep you sealed in your room."

"But, Aunt Salliiiiiiiiiii."

"Instead, you will wear a tracking bracelet. Locked."

Ryza bit down on a protest. "Yes, ma'am." She raised her wrists, rattling. "Can I get these cuffs off now?"

"Eventually."

Is it going to be worth asking why she made the bad decision?

I'll have to flesh that out, but there's at least a 75% chance it was an unexpected complication from doing something to deliberately tick off Aunt Salli.

Short Version (assuming you haven't read the LotRV bits I'd posted earlier): Ryza is Rolas and Mel's youngest daughter, and has the party girl attitude of Paris Hilton. At least until she gets exiled for a year onto Aunt Salli and Ali's backwater colony world, which results in her learning a bit more of her family history than anyone wanted her to know and getting her growing conscience kickstarted.
