"Master…?" Arthur asked, poking his head into the library, as he rubbed his stump in worry.

Tez waved the ogre inside. "No change, I fear. That magus was useless, and advised I cut her throat for mercy's sake."

"Master, no!"

"I won't, Arthur. She's too valuable to me. But I'm at a loss what to do."

"If someone else touches the book, they'll be in the story with her, right?"

"Yes, which is why…" Tez frowned. "No."

Arthur smiled. "Ogres are cheap, Master. You can get them anywhere. But little Andrea is special." He slapped his palm onto the book…

Yep. And now she's got a big, strong ogre to help with the monsters. :)

Good question. It was designed to trap Tez (by people too prejudiced to assume he'd let his slaves have access to his library). 400lb well-motivated and smarter than average ogres weren't included in the book's programming...

That was one option (and still might be if Arthur and Andrea's situation gets worse.) Not sure if I'll go in that direction though, he's more likely to try and track down the bastard who snuck it into his library and make THEM play inside it.
