"This finding agrees with what the natives here telling us," Bob said when he reported back to the main tent. "Scott's expedition definitely camped here back in '04. We found the remains of their equipment on the edge of the tabu area."
"So what happened?"
"According to the chief, they tried testing the waters in the lake. Which ended with the expedition being slaughtered."
"They killed them?"
"Not exactly, sir." Bob held of a test tube filled with water. "They made them drink it. With all the arsenic in these bacterium, it couldn't have been a pleasant way to go."
