Note: Yeah, risking hypothermia would normal trigger alarm bells for the Groupmind. One can assume our human here is unaware of the ottermorph lifeguards keeping pace with him under the water.

"How…?" he asked weakly, watching the icebergs float majestically by on the lake, past the sign stating FIRST ANNUAL RING POLAR BEAR SWIM. Where the average temp was a pleasant 23 degrees all year round, so very different from his old home in Jakobstad.

"We knew you wanted to go swimming," his walrusmorph said. "So we made sure the water was cold."

"Just for me?"

"Well, and for anyone else that wanted to participate." The morph looked around the empty beach. "Well, maybe next year."

"Thank you." He slipped his wetsuit on and dived into the water, relishing the chill.

Or maybe he doesn't care; it's not as if lifeguards on a beach are anything strange, and as long as they're not stopping him from taking the risks he knowingly and willingly chooses to take, but only to save him if the risk part threatens to bite him on the ass, I don't see any reason to object...
