jeriendhalHad a bit of a Eureka moment in the shower, so I decided to write this down. As with most of my spontaneous writing projects this will likely amount to nothing, but I'm going to try to add to it regularly and see if it leads anywhere.

Happy New Year!
Hi, my name is Jillian Margaret Johnson, but everyone calls my J.J. This is my diary. A real one, like you read about in historical fics. I had to order it from a specialty printer that makes something called “Moleskin” books for artists, except this one is lined so you can write in it.
I'm writing in cursive, which is different from block letters like you read in text. It's what Grandma says everyone wrote in when her grandmother was a little girl, before the Internet was invented. She said everyone had to learn it in school, but it fell out of style because it was easier to type. I can understand that! Cursive is sorta secret writing now, because nobody does it, except I found an app for my phone that teaches you how to do it, so I'm writing in it now. I've been practicing for a month now and it's still really hard to read, but I promised myself that I'd start on the new year.
More later. Hand cramping up really bad.
