So I broke my arm. Not my right arm, or else this would be really hard to read. While Grandma Jill was napping I got the ladder from the garage and propped it against the back of the house, and climbed up with the broom and started trying to push the snow off. It was heavy and wet, not the light fluffy stuff, and when I started shoving some snow to the right of me, the ladder kinda tipped the other way and fell.
I grabbed the rung of ladder and held on, I don't know what I was thinking. The top of the ladder hit the breakdown box and my arm sort of bounced off it before I got dumped into the snow, so that's how it broke. It HURT.
I hit the 911 button on my phone and E-Services sent a hovercraft ambulance. I should have gone inside but it hurt so much I just sat there in the snow and cried. The EMTs said I could have died because of the shock andhypoth the cold, but I was okay once they got warming blankets around me and my arm set.
They woke up Grandma and she went with me to the hospital. I felt really bad already but then she started crying on the way over and I felt worse.
Mom and Mom Sirti say I'm grounded until my arm heals. My phone and comp are locked so I can only go to educational sites and I'm not allowed to see friends except for PI days.
This rots.

Date: 2014-03-06 07:24 pm (UTC)Take all your painkillers. Don't go near aspirin or your arm will bruise in such a way as to form images of the flags of three emerging nations. Wiggle your fingers whenever you think of them or look at them. All fingers. DO NOT rotate your wrist. If you try you will be reminded some time later that I said not to, and you will be reminded for a considerable while.
It's been sixteen years since I broke my shoulder in three places, and that's all I can remember of what I learned.
