Need to set this as my new default icon. I may end up Kickstarting a graphic novel adaptation if I could have it done in the same style...

Maybe you'd want to try something a little shorter for a graphic novel adaptation and see how that goes.

I mean, graphic novels can easily end up with considerably larger pagecounts than pure text novels. What with all the illustrations.

Depends a lot of how much of the wordcount in the original text is action and dialog versus descriptions of character/setting appearances. In the latter case, a picture is worth a thousand words. In the former case, a paragraph of text can take several pages (or several chapters, in manga).

(Disclaimer: I've read a lot of Royce's other stuff, but haven't gotten to CotRV yet so I can't comment on how that would adapt.)

It's really, really talky, though some scenes, like Rolas explaining his sister's horrible marriage to the Red Vixen, can also be done as a sort of narrated flashback. I'd probably have ot go through the dialog wit ha chainsaw and just leave the plot critical bits.

Well, any time you adapt a story from one medium to another, changes need to be made. Look at any movie adapted from a novel. The key is to make the right changes in the right way, which they do not always manage to do.
