Okay, my audiobook project is on the verge of completion, thank goodness. I've just got one problem:

I haven't the faintest idea how I'm going to get it out to my Kickstarter supporters as their reward. It's going to be a BIG series of files overall, and I have to find a method of handing it over to my supporters in a way that remains secure so it doesn't go out onto the wider Internet outside of Audible's website.

Any suggestions?

Doesn't Audible do something like coupons? I seem to remember that the haikujaguar audiobook Kickstarter I took part in sent those as rewards...

I'm not aware of that being an option. I may need to ask [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar how to do it exactly. Hopefully it won't involve me buying twenty separate coupons...

I remember the same thing. Got sent a code and copy-pasted it into the space for coupon codes when I checked out on Audible.

How many supporters do you have?

ETA: And do you have a website of your own? (I.e. not just accounts/pages on others' services like LJ and Kickstarter.)

I've got twenty supporters that pledged enough to get the audiobook. And at the moment I don't have my own website, though I can throw something together WordPress if I had to.

WP won't help you here. For only 20 people, I'd do something like setting each up with a password via an htaccess file. And tell them they have 7 days to download, and once they've downloaded their password will be disabled.

ETA: And I'd monitor the logs, and every night see who downloaded it, and turn off their password manually. :)

I have no idea what a htaccess file is...
