Maybe rebels against the system get "Disappeared". And by "Disappeared" I mean put on the opposite side of the Ring where they won't get into trouble "Broken down to their component molecules."

Rebels are "Re-Educated" and/or "Converted". Meaning they get more and more of their brains replaced until they become cyborg morphs.

They get to keep their brains but have watchdog implants that either punish them for wrongthinking or make it impossible... All the while with their original minds being fully aware of what's being done to them. They still have mouths, but they are not allowed to scream.
