Mom is doing well and coming home this afternoon, thank goodness. Last night I visited with her and we chatted and worked on a puzzle together. Judging from the conversations she was having with the other patients and the staff, if she would have stayed there another couple of days they would have had to have started paying her a salary. She was getting along well with some of the teenagers there (all of whom apparently were bipolar, go figure). I suppose that's one of the things that drives her nuts about living at Leisure World. She prefers hanging around with young people, having worked in a high school nurse's office for thirty years. Being stuck in a community filled with old fogeys drives her... um.... nuts.

I've been having wierd ideas about Damsels and Dragons. Specfically buying some LEGOS and doing a crossover with DM-M's Irregular Webcomic (link: http://www.irregularwebcomic.net/). I keep seeing Jeremy's mom indulging in some horrific pun, making Isolde groan and complain about dragons twisting human tongues. Then Mom replies, "Draconic linguistic science sneers at the boundary between puns and bad taste."

Hmm. Jeremy's Mom vs. Colonel Haken. Must see how well minifigs do when exposed to a blowtorch....

Great news about your Mom! Does she *have* to live in a retirement community? We have a bunch of those out here, and I think I'd rather cut my throat than only see other old people. Of course, I'm not there yet (mostly (g)), so maybe I'll change my mind. My mother always says that she has to cultivate younger friends because the old ones keep dying off...and she does.

Well, unfortunately she did end up buying a house there. The tragic thing is that she and Dad moved there from the house they'd shared for 35 years about a month and a half before he died. She's still making noises about selling it in a year and moving down to Laurel, but we'll see how things go.
