Boys With Toys
Nov. 25th, 2003 09:11 amOver the weekend I bought a third-party add-on for Flight Simulator 2004, which adds about thirteen military aircraft from props to jets to helos to the game.
I'm absurdly pleased with this spending of $20. The planes don't shoot, but most of them are supersonic, and beautifuly detailed on the outside (though the interior cockpits are more basic). There's bias towards US Navy aircraft (including the F-14, F-18, A-6 Intruder, A-7, and Viking), but you have to love anything that gives you the chance to fly a B-2 from South Dakota to Bhagdad. My one complaint is that adjusting the auto-pilot is needlessly difficult, with the display shrunk to the point that the numbers are unreadable, but that's a relatively minor point.
Finally! An angst free post!
