So, finally faced with the concept that A) single-player games are singularly lonely enterprises, and B) The next time I hook up with a group to play a pencil & paper RPG is either going to be Doomsday or Not GURPS...

...I finally bought World of Warcraft, and the six-month subscription plan. So if you're on the Suramar server, look out for a Night Elf priest named Tezelfson.

I'd have recommended City of Heroes, myself, but right now the playerbase is in its tri-monthly furious uproar about how all the changes in the next free content issue mean that the devs hate everyone's guts and they're all going to quit This Time, For Sure, so it's not entirely a good time to intro newbies...

I've heard a lot of good things about CoH, but I choose WoW mostly because I've got a couple of friends in Australia who play it regularly, and I'm familiar with it throug hwatching Steve play.
