WoW: Brain Eaten, Film at Eleven
Sep. 13th, 2005 01:53 pmOkay, I've been fiddling with World of Warcraft for about a month now, and I can say that X-Play's "It's like crack" summary is pretty much accurate. Reasonably interesting, but not screamingly difficult quests (most of which can be finished solo, if you're careful and cautious), pretty and varied user environments, and appealing character designs make it a real timesucker. My only beef is that I wish there was some more variation with the facial and hair designs and make more unique faces, but the clothing options make that a minor nit. [1] My highest level character is only 22th level, but that's just because I have a limited amount of time to play it, and I've being playing with various race/classes to see what works best for me.
The sad thing is I know I'm going to end up begging Peta or Cheeko to make portraits of my characters...
Anyhoo, my characters:
On Suramar:
Bloodywind, 22nd level Night Elf Hunter. Pretty much my most successful character so far. The combination of bow attacks and his kitty cat make it easy to aggro individuals from the herd.
Tezelfson, 8th Level Night Elf Priest. My first character, and least successful so far. Mostly because I tend to plaly solo, and Priests are quite firmly Combat Support troops.
Putricia, 9th level Undead Rogue. Started her mostly to try a Horde character. She's nice, but the combat nature of MMPORPGs make playing a thief damned unrewarding. That and using the Backstab attack is frelling impossible. OTOH I'm intrigued by the Undead backstory, which makes them quite sympathetic really.
On Cenarius:
Cirrusbeerus (yes I choose stupid names), 18th level Human Paladin. Currently my main character. He's doing quite well, but I owe a lot of that to the fact that Steve has been sending me custom made weapons and armor.
Bluerose, 9th level Night Elf Druid: Started mostly so I could play a female Night Elf and check out the Druid class. That and if I have to watch somebody's animated ass for hours on end, it might as well be a nice looking one... :)
[1] Though why is it only female Night Elves get the facial tats?
